I mentioned a few weeks ago that with the mass appeal of the iPhone 4’s FaceTime, faster networks, and smarter Smart Phones, it would only be a matter of time before mobile devices could call into standards-based systems.
Mirial ClearSea has made this concept a reality, now offering H.323 and SIP access using the Android OS, for mobile phones. Current certified devices already include: EVO 4G, HTC Desire, Samsung Epic, and the Samsung Galaxy S, with word that there are plans to expand certification to more devices and operating systems (
They run on 3G and 4G networks too – no more having to find a Wi-Fi connection (though it works great using Wi-Fi- as well).
My guess is, I’ll soon be getting video calls from all over the place, the restaurant, the mall, the car, and yes, even the golf course.
Actually, this could open up a new market for golf pro’s—virtual lessons while you're on the course. Keep your head down. Nice and easy on the follow through.
